Winter Peonies...

Who says spring flowers look out of place any other time of the year?  I love these wintery peony arrangements.  They add a soft touch to all the pine and a wonderful fragrance combination of sweet and spicy.  LOVE!

I am totally in denial about working right now so I thought I'd share beauty instead of stare at the wall some more.  I do have event work to keep me busy but I'm just not feeling it.  Maybe it's because this building is a ghost town.  Was I the last one to know that the week between Christmas and New Years was going to be empty of clients and co-workers?  Either way... much to do.

Best to you and yours through this beautiful wintery time.

Alright, so I got a new computer and a new phone and I had to figure out what the heck I was doing before I could do all the facebooky twittery bloggy stuff.... so, here I am... ready for the social media onslaught.   Blogging is a bit of a bugger as I still have all of my photos etc on my last computer.  Even so, I knew my public would wait no longer.  Here is a wedding I did at the end of June at The Showers Inn.  What a beautiful site.  It was the first wedding I helped with there, and with the out of town wedding guests staying right there at the bed and breakfast it couldn't be more convenient.  Talk about garden envy.  What a beautiful courtyard.

classic- chic

My wedding this past Saturday at the IU Auditorium.  What a beautiful color palate.  I just want to dive into all the golds, champagnes and taupe's - so classic and so perfect for the setting.  Garden roses, peonies, garden spray roses and a variety of eucalyptus.  Perfection... even if I do say so myself.

Spring Wedding

One of my favorite flowers, possibly the favorite of all favorites, is the peony. I can't help myself but try to talk every single June bride into adding a couple in. This is a picture of my first peonies in the season. A small wedding of whites and creams. This bouquet included white peonies, buttercream lisianthus and ivory and white roses. I make bouquets like this all the time, but it never gets old.

Pretty Peach

This was such a great color scheme. Subtle shades from pink to peach with a punchy magenta thrown in to make a statement. The bridal was all white peonies.... beautifully simple. The bridesmaids had a mix of pink peonies, peach garden roses, apricot roses, orange spray roses and green hypericum berry. They fit so perfectly into late spring and really showed off the style of the Bride.
At the Church there were tall leggy glass vases topped with curly willow, roses and green hydrangea.
At the reception magenta orchids and pink peonies were a statement. In cobalt blue vases provided by the Bride we put the peonies in a short stout vase while the orchids were a natural pairing to the taller column vase.
My favorite design on the wedding was the escort table arrangement. A tall square vase topped with a lush combination of the wedding flowers. It could be seen from the entry window and everyone was able to appreciate the sights and smells as they picked up their place cards.
What a great color scheme.
