October Planning

This wedding was just the most fun you could hope for.  When planning a wedding and being with the wedding party all day you can only hope for a bride and groom that will keep things light-hearted and fun.  Lauren and Matt were just that!  Wedding and reception at Deerpark with a tent in the back, the party was hoppin' from the beginning and never slowed down.  Lauren and Matt were kind enough to send me a thank you gift and a card but I feel like I owe them a thank you too.  Thanks guys for being so much fun!!!

Vendors:

Deerpark Manor and the great Sue Sheldon
Cake and the Caterer with food and goodies with Ashley making sure everything was perfect (nicely done!)
Wright Entertainment with Rob Meyer on the DJ mic
Limelight Photo with Stephenie taking all the amazing pictures you see here (way to go girl!!)

First planning of the season...

This past Saturday was a blast. It was the culmination of over a year of planning and many bumps along the way. Unfortunately, I was so busy running around I didn't take a single picture. Luckily there was a photo booth at the reception where Helen, my helper for the day, and myself had the opportunity to have a souvenir of the evening.

Formal wedding and a casual reception, this wedding had all the makes of a great party. The ceremony took place at St. Paul's Catholic Center where the bride wore Vera Wang and carried an all white mini calla lily bouquet. Her girls, which were plentiful, carried yellow callas and wore spring green J Crew. With the groom in grey and groomsmen in black the wedding was picture perfect. After the formal catholic wedding the couple and their closest supporters hopped on board and IU tour bus for a bit of party before the party. They arrived almost two hours later at the reception down at Eagle Pointe. On the back terrace guests enjoyed the music of Bobby Clark and the Amazing Soul Crackers while they danced the night away. The photo booth by AMS Entertainment was a big hit and worked great as a favor to the guests.

I have to admit that doing party planning is an awful lot of work, but it's so great to see everything come together at the end. It was a blast!

The "Everything" Notebook

Working with brides everyday I see a lot of those wedding journals or "all in one" type wedding organizers. Certainly, there is nothing wrong with carrying around a binder that helps keep everything straight. I've found one of the greatest tools for the newly engaged is to buy a notebook and write EVERYTHING into this one notebook. You can freely copy from this notebook into your organizer or binder but having notes, messages and all other thoughts and brainstorms in one location makes it much easier to find what you're looking for. These notebooks from Miguel-Rius http://www.shopmiquelrius.com/ are super cute, but a standard sprial will do you just fine.

Coming from a Post-It junkie I can tell you with experience that it doesn't pay to have an important message written on something small enough to be swallowed into your purse. This new way of keeping everything in one place has saved me and I don't think I'll ever go back.
If you want a stylish notepad just search on line or go to the neighborhood bookstore, you'd be surprised at the selection. These journals are from FabSugar, http://www.fabsugar.com/ wouldn't put any bride to shame.
Keeping everything in one place is keeping it all together, and with anyone planning a wedding, this can't be a bad thing.
